Food Vendors at NOR Facilities
North of the River Recreation and Park District (NOR) desires to provide safe parks and recreational opportunities for its residents and visitors. NOR customers requesting to serve food to the public or by a professional vendor at NOR facilities must utilize vendors that meet certain requirements and agree to the terms and conditions set forth in the Food Vendors Application and Agreement. Upon approval of the application and agreement, a vendor will be placed on a list of approved vendors which will be distributed to all NOR centers.

- Completion of the Food Vendor Application
- Submission of General Liability Insurance Coverage and Endorsements in accordance with the District's Current Insurance Requirements Guide

- Temporary Food Facilities

- Farmers' Markets
Rules for Food Vendor Placement
- NOR customers must first obtain a reservation for an NOR park shelter, open turf area, or indoor facility and notify NOR staff that a vendor will be used at their reservation.
- The vendor must abide by all local, state, and federal laws as well as NOR Ordinances while at NOR facilities.
- NOR DOES NOT PROVIDE FOOD HANDLING FACILITIES. Vendors must provide their own equipment and facilities for the handling and distribution of food in both parks and buildings. NOR does not provide kitchens or rooms for food preparation. NOR customers may reserve a Cater Area as part of their reservation, but food preparation and use of appliances is prohibited. The Catera Area is not automatically included in reservations and not guaranteed to the NOR customer or food vendor. NOR does not provide electricity at outdoor facilities.
- Vehicles, including food trucks, trailers, or portable carts, are not permitted on NOR turf or walkways at any time. When not associated with a reservation made by an NOR customers, vehicles may not park on District property and must comply with all applicable local parking laws when using public streets. When associated with a reservation made by an NOR customer, vehicles may park in designated vehicle spaces within District parking lots and must remain within the assigned parking space(s). Vendors may not extend byeond the vehicle foot print into adjacent stalls, drive aisles, or pedestrian areas, and may not establish customer lines or queuing within parking lots. Accessible parking spaces may not be used by vendors.
- The vendor may set up a temporary food preparation area with a pop-up tent and other equipment, as logn as all other policies and local, state, and federal laws are abided.
- No other individual besides the food vendor and its agents may handle or serve food.
- Equipment must not be left unattended.
- Damage to NOR facilities directly attributable to the placement of any equipment on NOR property will be the responsibility of the applicant and/or vendor.
- No alcohol is permitted on NOR property. Glass bottles or containers are prohibited.
- Vendors must have their issued NOR permit on-site and available for inspection by Rangers at all times while operating on District property.
