Senior Adult Center

North of the River Recreation and Park District proudly offers activities for seniors ages 60 and over. The Rasmussen Senior Center providse a wide array of activities as well as lunch Monday through Friday throughout the year. Over a hundred seniors visit our centers daily to take part in activities from bingo to billiards to fitness classes, painting, quilting and more. Live music and dancing fill the centers every day and is wildly popular with our participants.

There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal for seniors over 60
(NOTE: this is a SUGGESTED donation only, no one eligible for this program will be turned away for an inability to pay)

Persons under 60 are charged $6.00 for their meal. Reservations must be made by 1:00 p.m. the day before. Call for more information.

AGES 50+ Discover the wonders of technology at our Senior Center’s Tech Literacy Course! From email setup to social media navigation, we’ve got you covered. Learn essential device skills and stay safe online. Classes held the last Wednesday of each month. Empower yourself in the digital age! Bring your personal device that you use every day.

AARP Safe Driving Course

AGES 50+ AARP Smart Driver course is specifically designed for drivers 50 and older. Contact your insurance agent to verify if you would receive the driver discount for completing the course. Refresh your driving skills and your knowledge of the rules and hazards of the road. Taking the course can prevent accidents or getting a ticket, by making participants aware of their driving habits. Senior Afternoon Movies

AGES 60+ Seniors are invited to gather together for an afternoon movie. Concessions will be for sale. Voluntary $3 contribution.

Senior Marketplace

AGES 60+ Seniors are invited on the third Wednesday of the month during lunch time to stroll through a convenient shopping experience comprised of local vendors right at the Senior Adult Center.

Congregate Nutrition

AGES 60+ Enjoy nutritious meals for older adults in a group setting with an opportunity to socialize with others. Live music is played daily. Call 661.392.2030 by 2p the day before to make a lunch reservation. Lunch is served promptly at 12p and participants should arrive no later than 11:45a. Voluntary $3 contribution. For companions under 60, meals cost $6.
