NOR Parks are open

At this time, all 24 NOR parks remain open. Fresh air and exercise remain important roles in maintaining our health, especially during this challenging time. We invite you to come to our parks and use the open turf areas and walkways to run, walk, exercise, throw a ball or toss a frisbee and play with your kids.

Until further notice, the basketball, tennis and pickleball courts are closed. And we are strongly discouraging use of the playgrounds and tot lots.  These areas do not meet the social distancing and increased personal hygiene guidelines that are required at this time.  Park restrooms remain open currently but this is subject to change based on staff availability and any additional orders issued by the California Dept of Public Health (CDPH) and the Kern County Dept of Public Health (KCDPH).  Please plan accordingly prior to visiting a park.

Please remember to follow the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidance on personal hygiene (bring hand sanitizer with you and wash your hands often!) and the recommendations for safe social distancing (6 feet!). Please do not gather in groups. For more information on what that entails while out in public areas, please click here.

Additionally, please stay home if you or a loved one are experiencing any symptoms.  Our parks will be here for you when you are well.
