NOR Parks are open

Kern County has begun its journey through Phase 3 of the Governor's reopening plan. All 24 NOR parks are open. Fresh air and exercise remain important roles in maintaining our health, especially during this challenging time. We invite you to come to our parks and use the open turf areas and walkways to run, walk, exercise, throw a ball or toss a frisbee and play with your kids. Additionally, the tennis and pickleball courts are now open for singles play only. And with summer upon us, the spray parks will be opening soon.

Until further notice, NOR community centers, basketball courts and pools remain closed. Sports fields are closed for organized games of any kind - youth or adult. Use of the playgrounds and tot lots continues to be strongly discouraged.  These areas do not meet the social distancing and increased personal hygiene guidelines that are required at this time.  Gatherings of any size are not currently allowed so please do not gather in groups other than with your immediate household members.

Please remember to follow the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidance on personal hygiene (bring hand sanitizer with you and wash your hands often!) and the recommendations for safe social distancing (6 feet!). For more information on what that entails while out in public areas, please click here.

Please stay home if you or a loved one are experiencing any symptoms.  Our parks will be here for you when you are well.
