Our first week kicks off with the exploration of what landscape architecture is and what landscape architects do. Join Steph, NOR’s landscape architect and park planner as she introduces us to Sam and visits different landscape architecture projects around Bakersfield, California.

Design A Park

This week we learn how the design process works—both on the computer and drawing by hand! We continue our map making journey with Sam the Landscape Architect and finish by designing your own park. It’s Earth Day week! This week we look at plants, their environment and how to select the right tree for the right place to help your Earth Day tree live its best life! We dabble into plant families, Sam the Landscape Architect explores biomes and we talk about all of the factors when considering planting. Remember—we select the plant based on the right place!
