Water Park Moves Closer To Reality As Board Approves Land Use Agreement.
Developers target May '09 opening.

On Monday, June 16, the North of the River Recreation and Park District (NOR) Board of Directors approved a land lease between NOR and Clearwater Water Park Development.  The lease allows the use of a portion of Riverlakes Ranch Community Park for $175,000 a year with incremental increases built into the lease term.
 
Clearwater will begin with an 8 acre water park on the land with plans to expand to another 6 acres in the future.  Funds from the lease will  provide NOR with a source of funding to develop a 25,000 square foot community center to be built at the Riverlakes Park Site.  

This lease not only offers NOR the opportunity to help provide a great water attraction for Kern County families to enjoy, it also helps build much needed gym space and community meeting rooms for our neighbors.  This will provide a more complete experience for NOR residents at Riverlakes Ranch Community Park.

Clearwater Waterpark Development is targeting a May 2009 opening date for the park.

Park Directions:
The RiverLakes Ranch Community Park can be accessed from Coffee Road by turning west on Riverlakes Drive. The site can also be accessed from Hageman Road (west of Coffee Road) by turning south on Riverlakes Drive. The park is immediately south of the Centennial High School campus on the west side of Riverlakes Drive.
